About Us

Kidneys act like a 24 hour cleaning crew for the blood. They filter out waste products. They get rid of excess water. They balance chemicals in the blood such as potassium and sodium. They remove excess acid. The most important function of the kidneys is to maintain the internal body environment for the optimum functioning of the various organ. When kidneys are diseased they slowly stop doing these jobs. If not treated, kidney disease can lead to kidney failure.

Kidney disease is a growing problem in India. It can affect people of all age group. People having diabetes, high blood pressure are more likely to develop kidney disease. Early kidney disease is a silent problem. Kidney disease can become kidney failure with little or no warning. When that happens, dialysis or a kidney transplant is the only options for keeping a person alive. Given the high cost of Renal Transplantation, only a minority can afford it. Dialysis is also beyond the means of many. The trust intends to help those kidney failure patients by providing financial assistance for their medical treatment.
